A machine that took up HALF of my garage, all just to open a refrigerator door...maybe it was crazy, but at least Buddy sure seamed to enjoy the easier access!
For years, I had been building Rube Goldberg Machines for all sorts of wonderful folks & companies. Fall 2017, I finally got the chance to build one at home (okay...maybe I built it for my pups, but still). Working and filming with my best friends (Moose & Buddy, aka: "The Rube Dudes") was a true privilege and I'm excited to continue building new contraptions with them!
Machine Task: Open the Refrigerator (filled with Moose & Buddy's favorite items)
Step Count: 21
Machine Build Type: One-Take Style - filmed from start to finish in only one unedited clip. This was achieved after 6 attempts! The paint can proved to be way more unreliable than I originally thought (check out the Bloopers to see what I mean)
Year Built: 2017
Additional Info: This machine was specifically built to easily identify all 6 types of Simple Machines. Built, tested, and filmed all in the span of only 3 afternoons! As it turned out, my dogs were natural actors (and ridiculously cute in the video), so "The Rube Dudes" were born!
