A mad scientist in his workshop has dreamed up The Gigantifier--a machine that takes normal-sized objects and makes them enormous. He needs a patent for his invention, obviously, and is sending some holiday cards while he's at it. Built for Wolf Greenfield law firm, this machine used technologies familiar by their practice groups and clients, with some holiday cheer thrown in for good measure.
Machine Task: Earn a Patent for the "Gigantifier" by Testing this New Invention on Everyday Objects
Step Count: 25
Machine Build Type: Filmed in segments as while the barn provided a wonderful backdrop setting, the frequent camera collisions with the barn rafters interfered too much to allow a clean one-take run.
Year Built: 2016
Additional Info: This machine was built for Wolf Greenfield Intellectual Property Law Firm for their annual Holiday card distributed to their vast client list. Built in the loft of a historic barn, it took 15 (freezing cold) days to build. The Tesla Coil step didn't actually transfer electricity to power the garage opener. Rather, the current traveling through the bulb and into the wires tripped a relay system turning on the next step. Fun fact: Wolf Greenfield hired me the following year to build the 2016 Holiday Machine, which definitely let me take things up a notch!
Definition of "Gigantified" - Simple past tense and past participle of gigantify = (transitive verb) To make gigantic. In other words: enlarge objects in a giant way.
